Day 1 - 1/19/10

On this day we set up our blogs. We used the website, blogger. We will use this technology to do a number of things during this course. I believe that setting up and using our blogs on the first day of class met the following ISTE-NETS Standard for Teachers:
3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning: Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society.
and it meets the following benchmark:
b. collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation.
I believe that this is the case because we are learning to use this blogging technology that we have already used to communicate with our teacher and our peers in the class. This technology can be used to communicate with people in your own classroom and community, or with people all over the world.
